Aspect keeps adding a $Temp event in the current year

Observed/expected behavior

For some reason, Aspect keeps adding a $Temp event to the current year folder. I see a hidden $Temp folder appear in the Aspect’s library directory, then it is copied to the 2025 as an event.

I’m using a third-party software to sync this photo library to the cloud, maybe this $Temp folder is created by it. Though, it is hidden, would be nice to have a setting to ignore it, somehow. What do you think?

Steps required to reproduce

  1. Open the Aspect window
  2. Keep it open a couple of minutes

System information

Software: aspect
Software version: 1.0.0-rc.14
Operating system: windows
Hardware Information: …

Sounds plausible and it definitely makes sense to ignore the hidden folder in this case. We cannot ignore hidden directories completely when scanning the file system in order to avoid unexpected side-effects in the case where a regular folder that belongs to the library is flagged as hidden by the user, but just ignoring hidden folders that are not already part of the library should be okay.

I’ll include a fix in the next release.

Thank you

By the way, if you think I can help you with testing before release, just bug me over email

Okay, 1.0.0-rc.15 should have this fixed now!
