Aspect made my entire system hang after I force-closed it from task manager. The system froze for a good 30 seconds, then the mouse moved once. After 60 seconds the app closed and the system started responding again.
Steps to reproduce:
-
I created a new library on an external drive.
-
I added a folder to that library containing a bunch of photos (100,000+ photos, mostly RAW, a few hundred JPEG).
-
The image browser worked great. The memory footprint was around 2.5 GB. (Great job, guys).
-
I clicked fullscreen on one image, and it made the mouse cursor disappear (already saw someone else reported this bug)
-
I clicked “show the tutorial” in the Help section.
-
I couldn’t dismiss the tutorial because I couldn’t see the cursor.
-
I tried closing the app with Alt+F4, and right-click on icon to close, and it failed to respond to any of that, so I went to Task Manager and force-closed the app, which froze the computer up. This is an 8-core/ 16 thread processor that froze. That takes some deep problem to cause that.
I reported this using the in-app crash reporting tool as well.
