Assign Keywords from a list

Hello,
I very much welcome the possibility of adding keywords to an image. However, you need to know these if you want to assign keywords to an image with the editor.
I would find it more elegant if you could assign certain keywords with their superordinate keywords directly to one or more photos from the hierarchical list of keywords.
Another idea would be a keyword set that could be assigned to one or more photos.

Hello! There are a few things that are already possible and one thing in particular that we plan to tackle eventually:

  • The keyword tree in the collection pane lists all keywords that are in use within the library. It’s possible to drag one or more files on one of the keywords to assign that to all of them.
  • The “Pro” version offers the possibility to assign a metadata template to a collection (right click → Configure Metadata Template…). Any image that gets added to such a collection will get the metadata template applied and removing it from the collection will revert the effect of the template. In addition to keyword sets, this also enables setting other fields that might also apply semantically.
  • We have an open ticket for looking into a way to add predefined keyword hierarchies in addition to providing the automatic set that gets derived from the already existing keywords.
  • Possibly related, we plan to support a form of keyword suggestion by employing a local AI model. It would be interesting to see whether this can be combined with a predefined keyword list in a meaningful way.

While the keyword tree technically offers the functionality, relying on drag and drop doesn’t make for the most efficient workflow when assigning multiple keywords, so I can see how a dedicated UI that allows to quickly toggle each keyword would be an improvement for this use case. The question is how that would ideally look (e.g. a popup showing a keyword tree, or maybe in the form of a sorted tag cloud like the existing keyword editor). Do you possibly already have something in mind here?

Thanks for your fast answer and your hints. I will try them next time.
