Fullscreen mode prevents rating or adding to collections

Observed behavior

When using fullscreen mode, when trying to add a picture to a collection or rate a picture via shortcuts, shortcuts are disabled

Expected behavior

Display 1 - photo stream
Display 2 - reviewing pictures in fullscreen

As I move along by using the Display 2, I want to rate or add pictures to collections.
Currently, it only works if I select the same picture in photo stream (Display 1) and then add the picture to the collection or rate it

Steps required to reproduce

  1. Open app
  2. Open picture in fullscreen
  3. Use shortcut to rate picture OR use shortcut to add picture to collection

→ Rating or collection are not modified by using fullscreen mode.

Operating system/Hardware used

MacOS
1.0.0-rc.27

1.0.0-rc.28 fixes a few issues with the secondary display, including that, under certain circumstances, the collection bar within the secondary window wouldn’t be synchronous with the main window. This should fix the issue with collection shortcuts.

We haven’t been able to reproduce the issue with rating shortcuts, though. The have been properly updated in all cases and places (metadata pane, metadata label on thumbnails and sorting when using the “rating” sorting mode).

Hi Soenke,
I’ve updated to 1.0.0-rc.28 but the issue seems to persist with the rating, even when no external display is connected.

Let me share the steps

  • user opens aspect and chooses one picture
  • “view” → “open in fullscreen view”
  • press cmd+5
  • press esc to exit fullscreen view

→ the image is not rated 5 start

(outside of fullscreen view, cmd+5 does successfully rate the image 5 stars)

Ah okay, I’ve misunderstood the “fullscreen” mode here, I assumed this to be the normal/secondary window in fullscreen mode (View → Toggle Full Screen). 1.0.0-rc.29 (which has just been released) now also adds shortcut support for the fullscreen view that can be activated from within the details view and also shows the toast messages, so that the effect of the shortcut is visible.
