I am using different devices in my network, and while I see the option to “Keep the Event Available Locally”, I do not see a similar option for single pictures that appear in the photo stream.
It seems that I need to add the photo in an event, then select “Keep the Event Available Locally”, but I wanted to ask if there is another way without creating the event.
context: I just want to download some pictures that I am planning to edit locally from a different device.
Right now the “keep locally” override is indeed only available for events, but it is technically easy to add that for individual photo folders, too – just the appropriate user interface isn’t as straight forward, because those are currently not visible in the UI anywhere. Based on various technical reasons, the granularity will always be limited to a whole individual photo folder and cannot work for individual files.
On a related note, we’ve recently changed the default folder template for individual photos from <yyyy>/Individual Photos to <yyyy>/<yyyy>-<MM> Individual Photos, so that the granularity is a bit finer by default.
