Mobile Uploader vs. Mobile Library View

Hi all! Loving Aspect so far! 300GB / 115 Events / 40,000 images happy and safe!

I tried finding this answer, very sorry if I am repeating something already covered.

For mobile, is there a world where the mobile app will evolve from an uploader to be a mirror of the library (with reference files/download on demand as wanted maybe?) so we can view our entire library on mobile as well?

Thanks!

Hi, this is definitely the plan for the mobile version! Our goal for the first official release is to just have the absolutely necessary mobile support - that is, getting photos from the mobile phone into the library (which continues to be surprisingly difficult to do well on iOS). The next step will then be to add simple gallery/viewer functionality and I expect this to be a relatively simple addition in general. Memory use could become an issue, though, as the limits are very tight on mobile phones in comparison.

with reference files/download on demand as wanted maybe?

This should also work automatically, since this shares most of the code with the desktop version where this already works.

Ultimately, the mobile version should include more or less the same core functionality as the desktop version, but that step will require a lot of additional user interface work (both, low level in the UI framework, as well as making sure that UI workflows/controls work properly on a small screen).

Awesome news! Thanks so much for the update!
