Hello,
Is it possible to group the image RAW/JPEG pairs for quicker selection after import?
In the settings there is an option (Settings → Library → “Workspace display preference for newly imported RAW/JPEG pairs”), but many of my pictures in the photo stream are not being displayed as one (so the jpeg and the raw files both are displayed in the photo stream).
My goal would be to display RAW/JPEG pairs of pictures that are already in my photo stream as a single entry. Could you help me understand how this could be done?
Initially, I thought that the application might not be recognizing the RAW/JPEG pairs as related, but when I try the related files feature, both the JPEG and RAW files appear.
Then I tried all the options listed in Library → Maintenance with no avail.
Not sure if other options are available.
It would be interesting to understand why the pairs apparently haven’t been detected during the import. Do you remember how you got them into the library (e.g. scanned folder, “import photos” or using drag’n’drop)?
While there currently isn’t a way to automatically update the visibility, you can fix the visibility manually:
Go to the event/collection/photo stream where the RAW/JPEG pairs are
In the search bar, enter “raw” or “jpeg” and choose the TYPE raw/TYPE jpeg sugesstion
Select the problematic photos
Choose Image → Hide From Workspace from the menu bar
I’ve added a feature request ticket (#1519) for implementing an automated process.
Hi Soenke,
thanks for your tips, I was not aware of the search feature per type!
Anyway I have played a bit with the application it seems I could solve the problem by removing the event and importing the images once again.
Do you remember how you got them into the library
I usse the feature “File → Import photos into library” and select the folder where the pictures are stored.
Thanks for adding the feature request ticket to solve this also in the future!
