a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-preview.37 (view blog post). You’ll find the download links at the bottom of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

Please remember: Even though the software is reasonably stable at this point, always make a backup of your data, or work with a copy of it, when using pre-release software.

- The description metadata field is now a multi-line field
- Improved loading performance for large PSD/PSB files
- Improved library loading performance for very large libraries
- Improved the display of the scanning progress in the library creation dialog
- Added logic to self-heal a library containing wrong checksums for non-empty files
Bug fixes
- Fixed a bogus ‘Library revision is missing node 00000000000000000000000000’ error
- Fixed recursive auto-imports not finding deeply nested images
- Fixed a crash caused by accessing an already destroyed OpenGL context after finishing the library creation process
- Fixed a possible crash or failure to load PSD/PSB files containing image data larger than 2GB
- Fixed generated “lr” XMP namespace definitions to contain a valid URL
- Fixed an instance of missing diagnostic output for certain types of crashes
- Fixed the initial state of the metadata pane to be disabled at startup
- Fixed an application hang caused by clicking on various links throughout the application (regression in preview 36)
- Fixed a crash at startup when an external drive containing a library is not connected
- Fixed a possible application crash caused by corrupted cache data
- Fixed navigating thumbnails is all images view using up and down keys sometimes jumping sideways
- Fixed a possible crash when attempting to open the related images speech bubble
- Empty keyword lists are not written as empty fields to XMP sidecar files anymore
- Fixed the library creation dialog to not be closable during the scanning process
