a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-rc.11 ([view blog post]New Welcome Dialog and Website Adjustments · Release Candidate 6 - Bildhuus Aspect)). You’ll find the download links in the next section of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

Enhancements

  • Server: The web interface is now shutdown after unloading the libraries, so that the status can still be seen
  • Added Topaz Photo AI and Gigapixel AI to the list of known editors

  • Application crashes during the library cloning process don’t result in an unusable library state anymore
  • Fixed a possible crash in the server version sometimes happening in high-load situations
  • Fixed the progress display during the “organizing event images” activity
  • Server: Improved the library loading process and added progress display
  • Server: Fixed the shutdown procedure to stop all activities before unloading the libraries
  • Server: Fixed a possible timeout failure while accepting a library invitation to a particularly large library
  • Fixed UI stuttering/hanging while new library revisions are created
  • Fixed excessive memory usage while synchronizing/cloning a large list of new files
  • Sped up the revision transfer process during library synchronization
  • Fixed a potential general slowdown happening for libraries where a very large amount of files was added in a very short amount of time
  • Fixed multiple causes leading to files being downloaded twice during the library clone process
  • Fixed a potential crash caused by wrong handling of chains of certain library diffs
  • Fixed a crash happening when exiting from the fullscreen image view
  • Fixed an issue leading to memory leaks and rare crashes
  • Fixed overly high memory consumption when a large number of HTTP requests was performed when synchronizing with other Aspect instances
