a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-rc.15 (view blog post). You’ll find the download links in the next section of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

Enhancements

  • Hidden directories detected within the library folder are not treated as new events anymore
  • All activities with a progress indicator now display a textual progress, too
  • Sped up the synchronization/clone process

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the enabled state of “Move To” menu entries under certain circumstances
  • Several menu entries in the edit menu are now available for files on the recent imports page
  • Fixed a possible failure to write XMP sidecar files when the enclosing event gets renamed/moved at the same time
  • Fixed a rare crash happening with a particular timing of switching to/from the metadata pane
  • Fixed a possible crash occurring under unknown circumstances
  • Fixed a crash occurring when the JIT file cache fails to initialize properly
  • Fixed the behavior of the server version for missing files - now keeps files in the catalog and attempts to restore them
  • Fixed the “Manage Scanned Folders” context menu entry to only show up for the photo stream item
  • Fixed some bogus error messages that appeared in the log output for inaccessible remote files
  • Fixed a case where extraneous exported files were left behind when using export collections with multiple synchronized library instances
  • Fixed another possible case of a bogus “Files Deleted from File System” message
  • Disabled processing export collections for the server version
  • Fixed a possible occurring after standby in cases where one of multiple libraries fails to resume or load
  • Fixed some of the library background functionality not working as intended after resuming from system standby
  • Fixed a possible crash when switching between events/photo stream in the same moment in which a library lock failure occurs
  • Fixed a possible crash when entering standby mode on Windows
  • Fixed a possible crash when loading synchronized libraries with unavailable events for which some metadata is missing
  • iOS: Fixed determining which photos are available locally on the phone
  • iOS: Fixed a crash occurring at startup on iOS 18.4
