Enhancements

  • Revamped the logic for determining variant relationships of externally edited files
    • Aspect now always looks for new images or changed edit copies, regardless of which external application has made the change
    • The โ€œwaiting for editorโ€ activity is not shown anymore, since it does not matter anymore
    • In particular, this means that editing images while Aspect is not running, or starting the external editor application before starting Aspect will now work as expected

Bug fixes

  • Linux: Fixed leaving full screen mode of the main window
  • Linux: Clicking on a control when the window is not in the foreground will now interact with the control instead of just bringing up the window
  • Fixed a possible crash during image analysis with particularly large images with an extreme aspect ratio
  • Linux: Fixed a possible crash after failing to load an external editor icon
  • Fixed an issue where the secondary window was sometimes not initially displaying an image after being opened
  • Fixed the keyboard focus sometimes not being passed back to the main window after closing the secondary window
  • Fixed a crash when attempting to rate an image that is not locally available on the active library instance
  • Fixed the secondary window not being reopened at startup
  • Fixed the collection bar not being updated within the secondary window when the window was not already open before navigating to the current view
  • Navigating within the secondary window is now properly synchronized to the main window
  • Additional metadata for edit copies is now written directly into the file when using JPEG as the exchange format
  • Fixed persisting reset custom shortcuts
  • macOS: Fixed custom shortcuts involving the Cmd key not working

Feel free to leave any feedback here or in the bug reports sub forum. Thanks for helping to shape a new way of organizing photos!
