a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-rc.3 (view blog post). Youโ€™ll find the download links at the bottom of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

Please remember: Even though the software is reasonably stable at this point, always make a backup of your data, or work with a copy of it, when using pre-release software.

Enhancements

  • Pressing backspace on macOS when not in a collection will now just make a beep instead of showing an error message box
  • Using title case for the English notification center caption

Bug fixes

  • Fixed dialogs sometimes appearing as black on Linux
  • Fixed a crash on Linux happening when the default locale is set for numeric formats
  • Fixed a possible crash caused by an incompletely created library due to a previous crash
  • Fixed a possible crash after showing the introduction overlay
  • Fixed a crash during library creation when Spanish was used for the user interface
  • Fixed the update notification for 1.0.0-rc.2 staying visible after this version is already installed
  • Fixed a bogus โ€œfetching filesโ€ activity, attempting to fetch files that are not available
  • Fixed an issue where library revisions cannot be cleaned up after the first cleanup
  • Fixed a possible crash when attempting to fetch files from another device in the event of network issues

Great work. I am happy to see problems in the Linux version are still being addressed at this stage of development.

Unfortunately, I am not able to execute the AppImage in any way. UPDATE: I opened a separate issue.
