Enhancements

  • The library creation dialog can now be closed while the scan is active
  • Optimized the removal process for many images at once
    • Fixes UI hangs in various places, for example when removing a large scanned folder or when using the library instance deletion functionality

Bug fixes

  • The edit variant detection logic is now disabled when more than 100 new photos are being detected at once
    • This fixes overly long scan times in the library creation dialog for larger libraries
    • Also, this avoids potentially creating large numbers of edit relations between files when this logic is really only meant for detecting individual variants as they get created in an external editor application
  • Fixed the edit variant detection logic not working for files that contain malformed XMP metadata
  • Fixed the edit variant detection erroneously taking into account images that have been moved to the library trash
  • Fixed a possible crash when creating a new event from files that get deleted by a background process before the event has been created
  • Fixed a possible crash on macOS when attempting to use the search bar while no library is loaded
  • Fixed a possible crash happening with a certain timing of starting the application and resuming from system standby on macOS
  • Fixed a possible crash occurring after a library lock failure
  • Fixed a possible crash happening when deleting files that are still being imported
  • Fixed a crash happening when attempting to show files accessed through the Android app in Explorer/Finder
  • Fixed an issue where loading image with extreme dimensions could lead to a crash

Feel free to leave any feedback here or in the bug reports sub forum. Thanks for helping to shape a new way of organizing photos!
