Hey everyone,

a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-rc.32 (view blog post). You’ll find the download links in the next section of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

  • Added French and Ukrainian to the list of supported languages

Enhancements

  • Improved the ability to display large images (>16384 pixels) for various file formats
  • A progress indicator is now displayed while waiting for a library lock
  • The option to force standard window frames is now available on Linux, too

Bug fixes

  • Fixed decoding of video files on Linux
  • Fixed an issue where the application crashed at startup when forcing standard window frames on macOS
  • Fixed a crash occurring when attempting to load large JXL images
  • Fixed the image jumping when using the quick-peek functionality (press middle mouse button, pan, release mouse button)
  • Fixed a crash happening when switching to details view from a thumbnails view that contains no items
  • Fixed a possible crash when disk access fails while missing photos are being downloaded
  • Fixed a possible crash happening after a previous crash that happened right after selecting a scanned folder as an event
