a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-rc.36 (view blog post). You’ll find the download links in the next section of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

Enhancements

  • Moving or copying library folders in the file system or between different devices is now handled properly
    • When a copied library was detected, the application will now automatically assign a new instance ID to the copy, so that synchronization can still work correctly
    • When a library is opened on a device or user account that has not been authorized to synchronize with the other library instances, a request to authorize the new device will be carried out automatically
  • It is now possible to jump to a photo within its parent event or within the photo stream using the context menu
  • The “Mark Folders as Events” popup now allows selecting the root of a scanned folder as an event and vice-versa
  • When downloading the setup file for an update now displays the progress on Windows
  • Errors encountered while processing export collections are now displayed as a notification instead of as a modal dialog

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a possible crash during application exit caused by other devices attempting to access a library over the network
  • Fixed an issue where an event was erroneously detected as duplicated after renaming it outside of the application, when only the case of the name changed and the file system was case-insensitive
  • Fixed an issue where some keywords could appear multiple times in the keyword tree after synchronizing with another library instance
  • Fixed some scripting API functions taking library node objects as parameters throwing bogus type errors
  • Fixed fullscreen view not refreshing after changes of the list of displayed items
