Enhancements

  • Optimized library load and application startup performance
    • Loading revisions for large libraries is now far quicker, especially on slower drives
    • Heavily reduced the amount of RAM used up for texts associated with library nodes
    • Sped up parts of the library loading process, particularly noticeable in the presence of a large number of collections or keywords
    • The icons for external editor applications are now loaded asynchronously and don’t slow down the application startup anymore
    • Loading external editors on Linux has been sped up in particular
    • Short hangs of the UI on Linux, caused by updating drive information, have been eliminated
  • Improved handling of touch screen inputs
    • Linux touch input is now working properly
    • Long-tapping now invokes the context menu
    • Double tapping is now detected and acts like a double-click
    • Dragging items is now disabled for touch input, only scrolling and other forms of dragging are possible
  • Library instances that are disconnected from the library, but visible on another device are now displayed in the device pane
  • Errors encountered during imports are now displayed in the notification center instead of as a modal dialog
  • Running imports now get canceled when unloading the library
  • When scanning the library folder structure, the current directory is now listed for the activity entry
  • iOS: Improved network device discovery robustness

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a crash caused by attempting to set up a conflicting auto-import on an Aspect Sync device
  • Fixed temporary bogus synchronization failures after old revisions have been cleaned up
  • Fixed possible jumping of the width of the right side panel, as well as the photo stream scroll position due to certain activities or notifications
  • Fixed a rare crash at shutdown caused by the library device pane refreshing

Feel free to leave any feedback here or in the bug reports sub forum. Thanks for helping to shape a new way of organizing photos!
