Hey everyone,

a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-rc.38 (view blog post). You’ll find the download links in the next section of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

Enhancements

  • Manual imports are now also being cancelled at shutdown instead of waiting for them to finish
  • Linux: Added support for tool tips
  • Linux: Reduced idle CPU load
  • Moved the “Add To” and “Move To” context menu entries to follow the collection/event creation menu entries
  • Instead of a raw URL, the auto-import entries in the synchronization pane now display a more readable path representation

Bug fixes

  • Linux: Fixed an error at startup on certain systems running Wayland where erroneously the disabled Wayland backend was chosen instead of X11
  • Fixed an issue where the image count of a entry in the collection bar would not get updated after changes made in a different page
  • Fixed an issue where already imported files would get transferred again due to left-over hidden files in the catalog that got created as part of an earlier import
  • Fixed an issue where temporary files created during import could get left behind
  • Fixed an issue where the application settings were stored to disk every two seconds, even when there were no changes
  • Fixed an issue where the library catalog was not necessarily stored after a version upgrade was performed
  • Another Aspect device in the network querying the status of locally registered library instances does not trigger loading all libraries anymore
  • Fixed an additional possibility for a crash at shutdown with the synchronization pane open
  • Fixed an application hang when right-clicking a file that is not locally available for the loaded library instance
