a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-rc.41 (view blog post). You’ll find the download links in the next section of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade.

  • Added rgbToHex, rgbaToHex, FileNode.getKeyColors and FileNode.addKeywords scripting APIs

Enhancements

  • Improved scrollbar appearance throughout the user interface
  • Made the quantization noise pattern used to avoid banding artifacts in the UI less visible
  • Reduced the amount of drawing artifacts at the edge of windows that are actively resized

Bug fixes

  • Fixed faint lines appearing around icons while a speech bubble is being animated
  • Fixed some non-compatibility PSD files failing to display
  • Fixed a crash caused by PSD files containing multiple EXIF metadata sections
  • Fixed reading of certain metadata fields from PSD and JXL files that were previously skipped
  • Fixed the behavior of moving back files from an event folder that were moved into an unexpected location
  • Fixed a crash caused by moving certain complex folder hierarchies into a year folder within the library
  • Fixed a possible crash caused by using non-ASCII host names on Windows
  • Fixed a possible crash happening when a loaded library gets emergency unloaded after the library lock has failed
  • Fixed multiple possible crashes happening when the system goes into standby
  • Fixed a possible crash when deleting files while a search operation is in progress
  • macOS: Fixed the mouse-over state not getting updated after the mouse cursor leaves the window area
