Enhancements

  • Newly detected variants of an original will now replace it in the workspace view if no other variants exist, yet
  • Application restarts due to memory-overuse are now treated as โ€œcrashesโ€, allowing to send a crash report for debugging the cause of the high memory use
  • macOS/Linux: Metadata/thumbnail cache format files and library catalog files are now written to disk, avoiding potential data loss on non-journalling file systems in case of system crashes or irregularly detached storage drives

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a crash for PSD files for which loading the advertise compatibility image data fails
  • Fixed grayscale images with more than 8-bit precision to not be truncated to 8-bit
  • Fixed a possible crash caused by truncated EXIF data in JXL or PSD files
  • Fixed a possible crash when viewing zero-pixel sized images or non-images in details view
  • Fixed a too low memory overuse barrier causing unneeded application restarts on systems with 8 GB or less RAM

Feel free to leave any feedback here or in the bug reports sub forum. Thanks for helping to shape a new way of organizing photos!

This update instantly crashes on me. It automatically reboots, in unable to send an error report, then crashing again. Iโ€™ve had to hard end the program using windows task manager.

Thanks for the heads up, I finally found the issue on an older Windows laptop! Iโ€™m preparing a new build now.
