Videos showing in the stream, but not playing. Am I missing something?

Hello,

Thanks for this software, Aspect is amazing to manage my photo collection.

However I get an issue when importing videos. They are displayed in Aspect like photos, but there is no way to play them, except by locating them in the Windows folder, then playing them with a third-part application. I tried with .mp4 and .avi vdeos from my cellphones.

Do I missed something, or is it impossible to play them (at least to get a preview) in Aspect ?

We are working on integrating the possibility to play back videos, so this will eventually be possible. In the meantime, you can at least configure an external video player as an “external editor” and possibly mark it as a favorite, so you can directly invoke it for the selected file. Currently, VLC, QuickTime Player and Windows Media Player are detected automatically and should show up in the “Edit With” menu.

Example with VLC being selected as a favorite:
