Hey everyone,
a new version of Aspect has been released: 1.0.0-preview.6. You’ll find the download links at the bottom of this post. Simply install over the existing installation to upgrade. The following changes and additions are included:
New features
- Added groups as a generic means to hierarchically structure the collection pane (#463, #503)
Enhancements
- The collection bar is now also available inside of collections and search results
- Improved import performance for many files, also avoiding constant refresh of the photo stream (#498)
- Improved metadata handling when editing images (#464, #472)
- Metadata that gets stripped by an editor application is now automatically restored
- Editing relationships are now stored as metadata inside of the edited files
- Improved the robustness of determining file relationships
- File relationships, such as sidecar files, RAW/JPEG pairs or edit variants are now determined dynamically instead of being stored in the library
- New sidecar files now replicate a set of common metadata fields of the source image
- Allows sidecar files to appear beneath their associated image, regardless of the sorting mode
- The current library is now reloaded in read-write mode after supplying a license file (#505)
- Standard header images (for collections, photo stream etc.) are now pre-loaded to avoid flickering (#502)
- .flv files are now recognized as videos
- Overlay icons on small thumbnails are now click-through to avoid accidental interactions (#501)
- Now always uses a modal dialog for setting the initial name of an event
- The built-in favorite collection is now also listed within the metadata pane
- The search result header now shows the number of items found (#483)
Bug fixes
- Fixed metadata being displayed as zero after changing metadata (saved in a sidecar file) (#509)
- Fixed drag’n’drop of collection pane items in the proximity of collapsed tree items
- Fixed the position of dialogs to be centered on the parent window on macOS (#486)
- Fixed updating the event header image when removing images from an event (#497)
- Fixed losing the focus after editing an image, causing an empty details view (#491)
- Fixed the left side of event headers appearing too dark
- Fixed dragging of top-level collections into other collections
- Fixed thumbnails in the film strip to display overlay icons (favorite, journal, edited)
- Fixed wrong layout/aspect ratio of thumbnails in the filmstrip (#484)
- Fixed the scroll position after switching back from details view to thumbnail view (#487)
- Fixed extraneous images sometimes appearing in the relations bubble
- Fixed an issue where RAW/JPEG pairs were not determined correctly
- Drag and drop operations now show a toast message describing the operation (#243)
- Certain menu entries that require a library are now disabled when none is loaded
- The “collections”/“metadata” entries in the view menu now actually work
- Fixed handling of multi-typed node container properties in the add-on API
- Fixed double-clicking on the image strip of an event header to always work (#470)
- Fixed the drive pane sometimes showing all entries twice (#479)
- Fixed the event header image sometimes appearing with reduced resolution or not at all (#478, #480)
- The collection bar now always resets/collapses when leaving the details view (#313)
